Makeup That Makes You Feel

For someone who pays great attention to aesthetics and whose natural inclination is curate anything I can around me, it hadn’t ever dawned on me to curate my makeup collection. Beauty products have just never been my vice. My creative inclinations lean toward styling my interiors and my ensembles. I’m not one to revel in experimenting with beauty…the quicker my hair and makeup process can be with the least effort possible, the better.

Earlier this year, one of my closest friends gifted me a Gucci beauty product on two separate occasions, and the lightbulb went off: I should start acquiring fewer, more aesthetically inspiring products with intention, and instead of hiding everything in a drawer, put the items on display and use it as decor.

While my beauty routine is simple, it is inspiring for me and it feels indulgent. The pink tube and the gold top of this mascara bottle is heavy, so it feel luxurious and glamorous; therefore, I feel luxurious and glamorous when I put it on. I keep the products out on these green china dishes in my bathroom, and every time I look at my little display, it brings me joy.

I’ve since started eliminating any products that don’t make me feel something when I use them, and little by little I’m adding the products that do. You can find the mascara HERE at Gucci, or HERE at Sephora.
